Using Proton Pass

You can make the Proton Pass web app and browser extensions secure by setting a personal identification number (PIN) that’s required for access. This article shows you how to set this up for each app.

Your PIN is secured against brute-force attacks: after three failed access attempts with the PIN  you will be asked to log in again.

For Proton Pass mobile apps, access security is handled through your device settings.

How to set the PIN in the Proton Pass web app

1. To set a PIN from the web app, click on the gear icon in the bottom of the right side panel and select Security.

2. A new window will open in the center of the screen. Place a check in the box next to Auto-lock Proton Pass and enter the six-digit PIN you’d like to use. Also choose a duration before the app will auto-lock.
